Statement of Faith

Uphold the basic truths of the historic Christian Gospel, as summarized in this Statement of Faith.

The Bible:  We believe that all of the Bible (in original text) is the inspired and inerrant Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit to write the books of Scripture.  The words of the Bible are the primary source for teaching and equipping Christians for a life of righteousness (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21).

The One True God:  We believe there is one God who is the Creator and the Ruler of the universe (Gen. 1:1). He eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19).

Jesus Christ:  We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the creator of all things, the one and only Son of God, who existed eternally, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified, died, and was buried.  On the third day, he was bodily resurrected, ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.  Jesus, who was the only one to perfectly fulfill the Law and the prophesies, gives salvation and everlasting life to all those who put their faith in him.  Christ shall return to judge the living and the dead and reign as Lord of lords. (John 1; Romans 1:2,3,16; II Tim 4:1; Matt. 1:23;  Heb. 1:3; Heb. 4:15; Heb. 7:26; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; John 11:25; Acts 1:11; 1 Tim. 6:13-16 )

Holy Spirit: We believe in the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit that empowers each Christian to live a godly life (Rom. 8:11).  The body of each believer is a temple in which the Holy Spirit is present (1 Cor. 6:19-20).  Therefore, every believer must foster a life of being filled with the Spirit, which is both an initial and an ongoing experience for Christians (Ephesians 5:18).  The Holy Spirit provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, guidance in doing what is right, and spiritual gifts to edify the church. 

Equality in Christ's Body of Believers:  All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.  We believe in the absolute equality of believers in the body of Christ who will be saved by the same plan for salvation, who will be justified by faith, and who will inherit the kingdom of Heaven through the Lord Jesus Christ.  Believers may teach, facilitate, and answer God's call to serve the Lord in any way God chooses.  (Romans 3:23,27,29; Romans 10:9; Gal. 3:28)

About Humanity: We believe that human beings were created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him (Gen. 1:26), but:  became alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience
(Gen. 3). As a result, humanity is totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by one's own effort (Rom. 5:12-19).   

About Salvation: We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross solely provides for the forgiveness of sins (Mark 10:45). Therefore, salvation is received only when a person places his faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for one's acknowledged sin (Acts 2:38).  This salvation is not earned but a gift available by the grace of God alone (Eph. 2:8-9).

About the Christian Life: We believe that, for every Christian, the old way of living for oneself is in the past and the new way of living for Christ is for the present and for the future (2 Cor. 5:17).  By obedience to the Scriptures and daily yielding to the Spirit we will mature and become conformed to the image of Christ, which should be exhibited by love for God and for one's neighbor (Matt. 22:37-39).

Serve the living God through honorable and honest dealings, as listed below:

  • Support the Boeing Employees Bible Fellowship to the best of his or her ability.

  • Honor and glorify the Name of Christ to the best of his or her ability.

  • Will not add to or take away from the Word of God.

  • Will not promote any denomination-specific teaching or church doctrine, or beliefs in addition to those in the Bible, but focus on what the Bible says.

  • Will not promote any denomination or one church.

  • Be diligent in performing regular work assignments of The Boeing Company -
    "As Unto the Lord" (Colossians 3:23).
